It is an indisputable fact that one of the leading causes of the political, economic and social crisis we are facing as Sri Lankan citizens today is our lack of political literacy.
No matter how much expertise we have in the fields we belong to, when entering the political stream, we are tempted to read politics only based on sensitivities and impulses due to the lack of proper guidance in understanding the concepts and values of the politics on the ground.
Since the negative results of such readings are being experienced in a very severe way today after independence, the objectives are to empower young generation to contribute to the political fraternity more broadly to build a good social and political system as a more informed and critical independent citizen by studying political, economic, social and global trends from the perspective of liberal political values.
Hence, to achieve this purpose as the youth of Sri Lanka who must take responsibility now, we invite all of you to come together as a team with the Liberal Youth Movement to create the most effective revolution to the politics of Sri Lanka.
